THE CATALYST Update – October 19
Version #6 of the cover is here and I think it’s the one. It’s very similar to book two’s cover, and I think it’s that symmetry that makes it work. I’m having them tweak colors now because the colors they chose are so vibrant and powerful I want to save them for the final book. :)
Cover reveal soon!

Recommended Reads: THE LEOPARD KING
This isn’t a recommendation. It’s an order. Read this book.
A tormented hero, nurtured back to life by the heroine’s quiet strength. It’s done so well it’s like a burn inside you as you read, as the plot unfolds to become so much more. Not that you need any more, but that’s what THE LEOPARD KING gives you. A powerful love story and so much more.
Ann Aguirre writes emotion with such striking simplicity, such depth and power. Her prose is magic. Every line sings. Nobody does romantic torment better than her. Nobody. And riding above it is an intricate plot of kingdoms in struggle, secrets, manipulation, war. A modern world so much like our own but so different, drawn with such detail it feels like our own.
Normally I don’t write a recommendation until I’ve finished the book. In this case I make an exception because Ann Aguirre can not let me down. She could kill off every character and I’d still be fangirling like crazy. I also make an exception because this book is only $2.99 on Kindle for a limited time–only a few more days I think. If you’ve never read Ann Aguirre that’s a great price to try a new author.
Fans of my books, you’re not allowed to read any more of my books until you read this one.
Okay I’m kidding. ACTUALLY NO I’M NOT.

Note: There’s a lot of detailed sex in this book. A lot more than what’s in mine. So if that’s not your thing, be warned. Don’t let it scare you away from such a great book though. Just know than when they start going at it, you might want to skim. :)
Penned Con 2016
What a great con! I met so many wonderful readers and authors. Everyone go buy some of Anne L. Parks’ books right now.
Can’t wait until Penned Con 2017!

THE CATALYST Update – September 22
Happy Autumnal Equinox! A day of equal night and day, when the sun rises due east and sets due west…and when THE CATALYST has been sent off to my editor for round one.
I’ve also sent the book’s info to my cover artist to get the cover started. I can’t wait to see what they come up with. It’s a jaw-dropping surprise every single time.
There are only three months left in 2016. I’m not sure that’s enough time to get this book finished but I’m going to be as hard-headed as TB and as calmly optimistic as Liv and power ahead believing I can still get it published this year.

THE CATALYST Update – August 28
I’m almost finished with my revisions. Starting today I’m taking a break to get some distance from the book before I go back in for the final changes. I also started working on the back cover blurb. It’s coming together, one version morphing into another until I finally have a version I can work with. I have less than a month before the manuscript is due to my editor.

Recommended Reads: RADIANCE by Grace Draven
RADIANCE by Grace Draven is another book I devoured due to how much I loved it. My lack of spare time was inconsequential.
The love story here? Oh my, the love story. It’s perfect and refreshing and funny and so so romantic and sexy and these two characters are just plain magic together. They’re so fleshed out I’m convinced they’re real, living in some other realm.
Yes, there’s a larger plot than the romance, in a expertly built fantasy world, and it’s strange, because there’s a decent amount of tension, not really a lot, not enough to explain why I was madly turning pages and couldn’t put this book down. I can’t explain why it’s so good it’s just SO GOOD because of the love story. THE LOVE STORY!! Did I mention the love story?
Fans of my books will love this one.

THE CATALYST – First Draft Complete
I wrote the final words to THE CATALYST’s first draft moments ago. This is mostly due to me writing over 1,900 words in one night which is crazy. I think I went through a time warp or something.
Revisions start immediately, from page one to the end, and will be completed by mid-September. That’s almost two months I have to really make this book shine! Then it goes to the editor so she can rip it to shreds. And set it on fire. Then throw it into a black hole. And when it comes out of that black hole I’ll be like, “What is this, a book? Oh, I’ve read this before but it was kind of crappy. Now it’s pretty darn good. Who wrote this? OMG I DID.”

THE CATALYST Update – July 24
I’ve just started the second to last chapter in THE CATALYST. This will probably be the last update before the final draft is complete. A lot of scenes need to be fleshed out, especially the ones in the last few chapters. In order to overcome my fear of writing the end I stopped taking the time to write my best and just started pounding it out. The progress has been great: 12,383 words since my last update. In those 12,383 I wrote a scene that’s going to make all of Christian’s fans weep. Sad tears? Happy tears? Hmm. And I’m pleased to report I did not weep while writing it.
…What? STOP LOOKING AT ME I JUST HAVE SOMETHING IN MY EYE *runs*
