UNQUIET Update – February 15

Another snowstorm here in St. Louis … and all the words for UNQUIET are finished.

I’m so proud of this book. All the editing has made it shine. I’ve sent it to my formatter, hoping she can start it early.

The cover artist is now on the third draft of the cover and OH MY.

Hey, also… I’m on Instagram now, if you want to check out some random book and non-book related stuff there.

UNQUIET Update – January 19

First round of editing–the most time consuming round–done! Round two starts in one week, proofreading immediately afterward. Formatting is scheduled for late February, the blurb is mostly written, and the cover is already in the works! OMG IT IS ALL COMING TOGETHER

UNQUIET Update – December 15

UNQUIET is with the first editor. When I sent it off I was like, YAY I GET A BREAK! Then I realized I have to use this time to write the blurb.

Fact: A novel’s blurb is harder to write than the novel itself.

UNQUIET Update – December 7

Twenty-eight degrees Fahrenheit is the perfect temperature for a night walk. A lively dog who sets a quick pace and likes to add in bursts of sprinting is a must. Added bonus is neighbors using their fireplaces and filling the crisp air with woodsmoke. We walked/ran two miles in about 45 minutes. It would have been quicker if we hadn’t needed to stop from time to time and sniff many individual pieces of grass. And pause on the street corner to survey for threats and scrutinize every blinking Christmas light and falling leaf. And go out of the way to avoid the inflated waving Santa who most certainly was trying to kill us. Can I trade June, July, and August for three more Decembers?

On to book news. My revisions are going very fast. Editing starts very soon. My guess for publication is March, but don’t hold me to that.

I still haven’t decided which of the three closing lines is the one…

UNQUIET Update – I wrote the closing line!

…actually, I wrote *three* closing lines. I’m not sure which one is the right one. XD

But what’s important now is this story is written! I’ve done a lot of revising and editing along the way so it won’t need much more from me. I plan to send it for editing in a few weeks (after I’ve completely tortured myself in trying to make it perfect although I know it never will be).

UNQUIET Update – November 9

I’m on the last chapter. It’s taking for-ev-er. My goal is to finish draft one and start revisions by Tuesday. Wish me luck, I’ll need it.
