Paste some of your writing into this handy analyzer, and it spits out the name of a famous writer.
I’ve seen Fight Club the movie (and loved it, but who doesn’t?), but I’ve never read any of his novels. Maybe I should. Especially since I got this result four out of five times, using different parts of two of my books. My third try got Ian Fleming.
Thanks, Monica Lee, for posting this. Fun stuff.
That thing is awesome! And quite the ego boost. I kept putting different things in to see if I would different results.
Ego boost for sure. I was reluctant to do it at first, for fear it would return “E. L. James”. LOL… Hey, I wonder what it would return if we copied some of her writing in? :)
That is GENIUS! I don’t have the books… so you’ll have to do it and let me know.
I don’t either. I read the first pages on the Amazon Look Inside and it was enough for me. lol
Well I tried paragraphs from a number of posts and got different authors for each one, including a Chuck Palahniuk. (I think I may be the only person in the world who hated Fight Club, but my partner wasn’t crazy about it either. It may have been the pressure…people kept saying it was life-changing.) Anyway, I wonder how they do this? Jeez, do I need to get a style and stick to it?
I’m not sure about “life-changing,” but it was definitely better than most. That does happen to me though, if a movie or book is too hyped by the media or my friends, my expectations will be too high and it will ruin it for me. I’d love to have a peek of the code behind that analyzer. I know we can’t take it seriously but it does take the edge off querying!
That’s cool. When you get finished reading one of Chuck’s books, let me read it. I want to see.
